Our panel of scientists:
Robert is a research scientist in entomology at the Canadian Museum of Nature and has a special interest in insect ecology and classification.
Anne works with the National Research Council on ice-related engineering problems, such as the effects of ice on offshore structures like oil and gas production platforms.
Pauline is an assistant professor at the University of Western Ontario and studies galaxies and star clusters.
Peter is a Canada Research Chair in Meteor Science. He studies small bodies in the solar system, including meteors, meteoroids and asteroids.
René Brunet is a Meteorologist working with Environment Canada’s Biosphere museum. Each week, he talks with students and teachers via videoconference about weather, climate and environment issues.
Being manager of outreach at the NRC-Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics leaves him in a unique position to field any of your questions, in that, even if stumped he should certainly know who to turn to for the answer!
Dr. Chris Derksen is a Research Scientist within Environment Canada’s Climate Research Division. Much of Dr. Derksen’s time at work is spent taking measurements in prime bear territory across the Canadian sub-Arctic.
Ian Droppo is a Water Research Scientist with Environment Canada and an Adjunct Professor at McMaster and Ryerson Universities where he and his students study pollution and how it affects our lakes and rivers.
Chad teaches chemistry and thermodynamics at Trinity Western University and Simon Fraser University. He researches industrial applications of fluorine chemistry.
Bill is currently R&D Program Manager for Recycling Technologies at Natural Resources Canada’s Mining and Mineral Sciences Laboratories in Ottawa.
